Feel-Good Group Activities

Need some inspiration for a team building activity this year? Try a charitable program, for a sure way to bring your group closer together.

We put together a “Build-a-Basket” charitable program for a pharmaceutical company last November — teams created gift baskets with items to provide a family all the “fixins” they need for Thanksgiving dinner. There were trivia challenges involved and with various criteria, judges voted on best basket (gift basket making is not as easy to do as you might think!) A local food pantry came in to thank the group and collect the baskets, which made for a really heartwarming team project. This could be a great charity team builder any time of year! Probably even more helpful outside the holiday season, when food pantries aren’t getting as many donations in.

Another feel-good activity is our “Build A Bike” program — using materials we provide, teams build bicycles and complete various challenges like creating team names and commercials. The bikes are donated to a local children’s charity. Bring the kids in to see the bikes, ride them in the ballroom … a great photo op and the joy on the kids’ faces is priceless!

Easter is Earlier this Year!

I know, feels like we just cleaned up from Christmas. But it’s time to start thinking about Easter, which is earlier this year – April 8. Here are some photos from an Easter celebration at a country club near the Jersey shore last year.  We had lots of activities … our Easter Bunny character and decor for photos, children’s DJ, petting zoo, face painting, balloons, and a build-a-bunny craft!

A Charity Walk and So Much More!

Here are a couple photos of a Diabetes Walk we were part of in Princeton last fall. We provided not only a DJ/staging for announcements and energizing music, but all kinds of entertainment for onlookers and walkers after they cross the finish line – balloon artists, jugglers, a magician – even a “low wire act” with bystanders getting a chance to (safely) experience this classic circus act! Great way to keep family and friends entertained while waiting for the walk participants to finish.

Holiday Parties

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season! Here are a few photos from some of our holiday events this year — some inspiration for your 2012 celebrations!

Inspiration for End of Summer Fun

If you are looking for some event inspiration, here are photos from just some of the clubs we’ve worked with this summer …  including Winged Foot, Eagle Oaks Country Club, Trump National, Apawamis, American Yacht Club, Rock Spring Club, and others. A “little circus,” Italian Street Festival and Beach themes are all popular family events at the clubs.

And for corporate clients, here’s just a sampling of what we’ve done this summer:

- Team building with carnival games, dry dunk tank (with plastic balls) inside a ballroom
- Gong Show team building, with judges and a real gong
- Transformed an empty room on top floor of the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia and made 6 international food stations with themed décor and props … for a law firm’s clients.
- Helped coordinate Shaquille O’Neal’s birthday party at the Children’s Museum in Boston for BJ’s Wholesale Club
- Had blackjack tables and a strolling magician at 6 locations around the country for Belgard Pavers

Not Your Typical Trade Show Booth

Here are a couple photos of our booth at the club managers’ shows last month (Club Managers Association of America) in NY, NJ and Philadelphia, where we showcase our services. Every year we come up with a new theme to decorate our space (we don’t just throw together standard, industrial pipe and drape!) And we always look to entertain passersby as well, with our casino table. People love a chance to stop for a few minutes to have some fun, after circling the show. One club manager said he looks forward to seeing what we come up with each new year. This year’s theme was carnival/circus.

Great Gala Band

Nice feedback about our band at an event we did in NYC a couple weeks ago. For a music sampling of this really great, versatile band, click here, then choose  “Variety Dance Band” on the jukebox.

“Thank you all for the great Gala night, so many people are commenting how much they enjoyed it, the music and dancing!” - President of Finlandia Foundation of NYC

“We at Finlandia Foundation New York Chapter want to thank you so much for the memorable Gala night. It is was a fantastic event. Thanks to your musical gifts! Thank you and we hope to hear you soon again.”

Best,
